What is new in LinkedIn?
Now You Can Switch Your LinkedIn Profile Button from 'Connect' to 'FOLLOW'. LinkedIn is now giving all users the option to display a 'Follow' button as the main CTA on their profile page, as opposed to the current 'Connect' prompt. By the way CTA means Call To Action

Therefore, if you are getting too many 'Connect' requests and you are not able to cope up with the same. You may select to display 'Follow' button on your LinkedIn profile instead of default button 'Connect'.

When members follow you, they are more likely to see your content in their feed. This allows members to stay up to date with topics they care about and join your conversation.  

Facebook has been putting a lot of emphasis on video content in their news feed lately.

Whatsapp? 
Whatsapp has announced API for businesses. It means people will be able to send advertising, messages over Whatsapp instead of regular SMS.

Standard SMS services (in India) costs businesses about 10 paise for each message.

WhatsApp will be able to bring down costs drastically and bring in an added layer of comfort while interacting with the customer.

For example for Tours and Travel companies this could be very effective.  With this new Whatsapp API, large enterprises will be able to send notifications like airline tickets, travel details, and information on products that customers have bought online. At the same time, customers will be able to directly interact with the company for their doubts, grievances and other requirements!

If you are looking for a job, then this is very important. You need to show your social media presence carefully.

Here is why: Most employers eliminate candidates due to social media

Most employers check social networking sites before calling a person, common connections often allow them to learn more about candidates.

Of 1,012 hiring managers and human resource professionals at private companies of all sizes and across all industries, 70 percent use social networking sites to research job candidates, and 57 percent have found content that caused them not to hire candidates.

Social media gives complete freedom to users. But users should be able to draw a line how much is too much. 

Freedom in social media depends on the mindset of the people. Ethical standards. For example, making duplicate ID, or fake ID on Facebook, etc. is not ethical. 

To some extent, technology can regulate social networking sites, not the Government or legal system. We the users can use the ‘Report’ feature of Facebook to help Facebook to take appropriate action. 
Yes, use Report feature to help clean the social media. When something gets reported to Facebook, we'll review it and remove anything that doesn't follow the Facebook Community Standards.   

The reporting option on Facebook enables you to alert the social networking website of content that is abusive, illegal or offensive.

What is the size of image? You know eye-catching graphics images are important for social media marketing.

1.  LinkedIn Company Page Direct Uploads: 552 x 368
2.  LinkedIn Personal Page Direct Uploads: 1200 x 627
3.  On Twitter, Consider the Number of Images. One or Three or five. Whatever, but too many photos may not be a good idea. 

On mobile device and on web version the same posts will show images differently. 

Try to make a video, with some royalty free music, if you have too many photos.

For Twitter Image, recommended specifications for Mobile Images:  1200 x 675 (16:9)

Whereas for desktop 506 x 506 

Videos on Facebook are number one to get attention. 

To create Facebook videos that drive the best results, create videos that are between 60 and 90 seconds long.

Short videos are the best.
May be 180 Seconds maximum.

Many users view videos without sound, in mute mode.

You can include a hyperlink to your website using Photo Carousel. You can put Destination URL.
