LinkedIn for students? Campus and $ucce$$ful Careers? Profile and Bio?

LinkedIn is great for students - from campus to careers.

The Semantic Web is the extension of the www that enables people to share content beyond the boundaries of applications and websites.

The main thing is discovering something about social media while you are part of it!
  • It is necessary that college / institute students be encouraged and taught how to develop quality profiles on social media sites, so they are prepared to set themselves apart from others. Too many students still graduate with a degree and a resume thinking they're equipped for success.  Competition is even more intense.
  • There are exciting opportunities in the social era for creative individuals to standout of the crowd.  Let's prepare our college students for $ucce$$.
  • Here’s how to get started.  Share your project and achievements on LinkedIn.  Colleges and employers are on LinkedIn. Want to stand out with them? You'll need to build a professional online identity.  Stop pausing like a joker or cartoon, this is not Orkut.
  • LinkedIn Skills and Expertise helps you discover the expertise that other professionals have and see how the demand for these skills is changing over time.  Having important keywords and relevant skills in your profile is the key to attract potential employers.
  • Skill endorsement:  Your teachers or seniors will endorse you to make it look more authentic. They also let your connections validate the strengths found on your own profile. Skill endorsements are a simple and effective way of building your professional brand and engaging your network.
  • Whether it’s choosing a college, or postgraduate course, or thinking about jobs, social media is the place to be. It’s your resume that never sleeps, a way for colleges and companies to find you, a tool to see career paths of graduates, and a place to talk to colleges, current students, and alumni.

What is the action plan?

Your LinkedIn profile is the starting point. Make sure you have an appropriate profile picture, write a concise headline, and show off all of your experience, from volunteering and extracurricular activities, to part-time or full-time jobs and internships.

Do not put profile picture with your near and dear.  Profile picture as a logo or in front of Taj Mahal is not a good idea.  You must write your name properly.  Just your own photo of your face.  Feeling shy or hiding your face is not going to get you anywhere.

Facebook Page - Google + Page - LinkedIn Co Page

"Oh Facebook Friends! What do you know the importance of Like?"
All three top networking sites Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn allow you to create Page.  Page on social media is your interactive website.  You may create more than one Page.  Each Page focusing on specific audience.  The best part of the Facebook Page is you get awesome analytic and the 'Likes' much faster:

  • Find Your Way Around
Overview: Get a 7-day snapshot of the most important activity on your Page.
Page: See how your fan base has grown over time and how people are connecting with your Page.
Posts: Compare the performance of all your posts.
People: Learn more about your fans and the people who like, comment and share your posts.

  • Watch Your Audience Grow

See how many times your Page was liked and unliked each day and learn where your likes come from — the different spots on Facebook where people are clicking "Like" to connect to your Page.

  • Understand Your Reach

Posts that get more likes, comments and shares show up more in News Feed and are seen by more people. Posts that are hidden, reported as spam or cause people to unlike your Page reach fewer people.
If you notice a spike or dip, look at what you posted that day to learn more about how you might have influenced your reach.

  • Compare Post Performance

Understanding how people respond to your posts is a critical part of being able to create the best content for your Page. With everything in one place you'll be able to see the best and worst performing posts so you know what works and what doesn't.

  • Get To Know Your Fans

Find out more about who likes your Page (your fans) and who likes, comments on and shares your posts:
  • How your fans are similar and different from other people on Facebook.
  • Common traits of the people who like, comment on or share your posts.
Google Plus Page
However, Google + Page is superior as compared to Facebook Page.  The +1 is similar to Like but Google + Page has obvious advantage of the mighty Google Search Engine supremacy.
